Crown molding angle chart

Miter and bevel settings for cutting crown flat on the saw table, for every common spring angle and corner. The last column is the single setting for cutting it nested against the fence.

Reading it

  • A square outside corner takes the same settings as a square inside one — what changes is which side of the line you keep.
  • 38° is the common spring in North America and 45° is the other one you will meet. If the molding came off a job and nobody knows, measure its drop down the wall and its reach across the ceiling.
  • These assume the wall angle you measured is the real one. Corners are rarely square; measuring beats assuming.
